ATLP's Young Professionals Committee Presents

This summer, the United States Supreme Court refused to hear a case challenging the application of California's AB 5 to the trucking industry. As a result, on August 29, 2022, the injunction preventing the state from enforcing AB 5, which had been in place for roughly two years, was lifted, and the risk of incurring significant liability as a result of noncompliance with AB 5 may now be a reality for many trucking companies operating in California. A panel of Scopelitis attorneys will discuss the law’s history, its “business-to-business” exemption, and the trucking industry’s options for compliance, among other subjects.
